    astra air filter

    today i put a cone filter on my astra g 1.6 16v.but the thing is it doesnt make any sound .i have put the filter in the end of the plastic pipe that goes to the throttle body.i there a better way to fit for more sound.thanks

    Check that its fitted tight enough, how big is the air filter, or floor it

    the filter is quite big . and ive floored it still no sound what so ever . i had one on my corsa and it was really loud and beefy.

    have you got a big box thing by the throttle body in the intake pipe?
    made a small difference when i removed mine

    have you tried cleaning the air filter out also make sure its fitted tightly on

    The 1.6 16v engines wont make much noise with a filter. The inlet manifold and resonator box on the inlet ducting do a cracking job of quietening them down even with aftermarket cones on. The only way to get loud induction noise is with an inlet manifold and custom piping to the filter. Taking the resonator box off the pipe from the filter to the TB will also help a bit

    TBH id be more bothered about the heat soak you get with the cone filters rather than a noise. An enclosed filter with direct cold air feed or the usual panel filter with veccy C intake pipe and de-restricted airbox will see much better gains performance wise
    It would definitely go better with an engine in it
