whats this ??? help please. Z20 LET experts

im in the process of rebuilding the engine and i ordered a head set from vauxhall. but true to form they have proven to be useless yet again.

im missing a weird gasket and 1 cam shaft seal. why the hell wud i only need 1 cam shaft seal????

anyway could somebody identify this unknowm metal object for me i need the gasket asap.

its on the rear of the head/block. and from the front view its to the left of the inlet manifold. same as the thermostat on the front is next to the exhaust manifold.

its something to do with the cooling system and has a pipe leading to the throttle body and it comes from a strange black box which you can see in the pictures????

    any help is massively appreciated.

I am sure that is the water housing that is located on the inlet manifold side of the cylinder head. My X20XEV has one the same.

They are obviously of the opinion that you have the earlier two part camshaft, joined by two (jumbo) paper clips and reinforced with blue tak = more commonly known as VVT. Later models come with single piece camshafts as standard.
