Angry Need advice on something thats P***ing me off!

    Hi folks,

I was wondering if someone could help me out. My cars windows are steamed up every day i go out to it. The back window is the worst as it looks white, i dont think ive been able to see through it since i got the car,

I would like to find out once and for all why it is doing this. Does anyone know what I could try?

I thought it couldve been the pollun filter but im told that if the pollun filter was dirty then this would only effect the front screen? Anyone confirm that?

Any help on this and i will be very grateful.

    Cheers, Kev.

It is more than likely damp somewhere in the car.

Try footwells and in the boot to see if there is any water anywhere.

My Mum's old Cavalier used to mist up all the time, carpets in rear footwells used to be soaked. The gullies which run along the roof edges etc to take water away were blocked so water had no where to go and made its way into the car!

also check the ariel base, i had water coming in there and dripping down my rear pillar. as above check the gullies and gommets (theres one that connects from the cars body to the boot that hides the wires, this sometimes comes away )

I doubt it is the pollen filter - that would only cause the air con to take longer to demist. This sounds like damp to me.

Do you drive your car the night before you do in the morning?

Simple reason is, you have the heaters on full heat, switch the car off temperature drops and condensation forms in the blowers and other components and it causes the the windows to steam up. That and the fact the inside temp of the car is warmer than the outside so its natural for it really to steam up

not true, with a clogged polen filter you will find that you will need the air con on to clear the windows.

Replace the pollen filter, also known as the cabin filter, it is only £8 from halfords and the one you need is ACE065.

I have just replaced mine last night as all windows were constantly misting up and today it was great to have clear windows again.

once you replace the window be sure to clean the inside of the windows to get rid of the grime that has built up, you will be surprised how dirty they get.

I generally replace the cabin filter every year and it does need it
