cim module where is it sitituated ?

hi,i just bought an astra sportshatch 1.6 sxi on a 58 plate and i am having problems with horn/volume controls on steering wheels, could somebody please tell me where the cmi unit is in the car?
as i would like to have a quick look to see if it is just a bad connection before i take it back to vauxhall.

Those are standard symptoms of a failing CIM.
If it's under warranty, get it back sharpish.
They're not cheap to replace & have to be programmed by Tech2 to your car.

Could also be the wiring harness as I had the same symptoms, the CIM was replaced and the problem was still there subsequently had the wiring harness replaced and that sorted the problem.

cim is directly behind your steering wheel. you need to unpin airbag then unbolt the wheel to get at it but trust me its best left to vx as i played with mine and broke it at a cost of £413

Could this be connected to the immob as my car sometimes doesnt start and i have been advised that it is due to the CIM module? I have tried both my keys and sometimes it starts and other times it clicks over and then cuts out for maybe 5 - 10 mins.
