    temp gauge question

    Mine hardly ever gets to 80 unless i am driving pretty hard or i am in traffic and when it does it goes down fairly quicky, is this normal ? and will it cause any problems ?

    That would suggest the thermostat is stuck open - it should stay pretty static once the engine is warmed up.

    The symptoms you describe are pretty much the way of checking, however if you can tell, there should be no coolant flowing ito the header tank when the engine is cold beyond the overflow pipe?

    remove the thermostat is the best way to chack and for the price of them its not worth messing around with.
