Low engine coolant levels- cold mornings

This might seem a bit of a daft one but on checking the oil today I noticed that the water level in the expansion bottle seems seriously low!

Im just wondering if a lot of it boils (get it? lol) down to last night being very cold and the car not been started this morning.

I dont want to fill it up to the cold fill level incase it ends up with too much pressure in??

Should i warm it up then see where the levels are at before i top it up or just fill it to the cold fill level?

Any level muchly appreciated, thanks guys

Hmm, well the cold level is for when it is cold, so providing it isn't on a bad slope, top it up to the right place!

Both my cars, Astra and Vectra are filled slightly above the cold (Kalt) level by about 1cm as its easier to check it there rather than through the seam of the tank. Never done either of my cars any harm.

Check it when the car has been sat a good while, i.e. 1st thing in the morning when everything (as in your car, not outside temp) is cold.

If it's below the min, top it up.

I'm the same as Iain, i go just a smidge over the seam as you can't tell (or i can't anyway) otherwise
