    Cracked manifold

I was changing my down pipe and i noticed that my turbo house is cracked.I found some cracks on the manifold too.Can it cause any problems,so should i change my turbo now? or i can wait until it goes totaly broke, because i dont have the money for a new turbo now.

The crack near the wastegate is not very bad so I would not worry to much about that. The old c20let's used to crack there all the time aswell. I'd be more worried about the ones on the manifold. Could you not get them welded up for now until you can save for a new turbo or buy a second hand manifold from someone off here or regal?

I could buy a vxr manifold here ,because a friend of mine has one ,but if i buy that and i bring my turbo and the mani to a turbo mechanic and ask him to assemble the two, than he will tell me that okay but you must to refurbish the whole unit. And like this it will cost almost a new turbo price.Maybe it wouldnt be problem ,because i would have a "new" turbo, but i dont trust in the hungarian mechanics...

The previous owners of my car has already welded the manifold once, but it cracked again,so it didnt last to long.
Anyway my turbo went 133000 km , it isnt bad,no?

Buy a ko4 turbo rebuild kit from ebay, then just replace the seal to manifold gasket when changing the new manifold over. its very easy to do. any mechanic should be able to do this for you.

I really don't see how a modified manifold with cuts in it will reduce the liklihood of cracking. On the contary, the cuts would act as stress raisers and probably help cause cracking.
