Yup, in the side wall its an mot failure, do you do a lot of driving up kerbs or are they cheap / old rubber? Chances are youLl be fine but if theres a crack then your tyre could rupture at those points, not nice in the rain overtaking on the motorway...
N.b. any opinitons expressed above should be ignored and considered 'ramblings', under no circumstances should they be relied upon...

Higher risk of a blow out? I would rather change them than risk that but if I can make them hold out a bit longer it will help the pennies!

Noticed a large crack appear on GF's KA. Tread was fine, but rubber had started to perish due to age - they had been on the car since new and the car was 8 years old!

I would get the changed before they give out, more for your safety than anything else!

It isn't one big crack it's lots of tiny little cracks none of them very deep. I think it must just be the age of the tyre. Fronts are Ceats and backs are Michelin.

Could this happen if tyres had been very under inflated?

See this on all makes of tyres.

Under inflation, old tyres and jet washing cause it.
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...
