    Lowering springs help???

    Can any1 help me out! lookin in to purchasin some used 40mm lowering springs currently on a mk 4 astra van would these fit my mrk 4 gsi ok i would of thought it be same setup any comments much apreciated!!

    I wudnt put van springs on a gsi like, f*** that!

    The weights may be different? sure somebody will let ya know

    a new set is only £60-70 anyway, or coilovers are £150 for racelands.

    You need to do a bit of searching, you need to understand what was ment regarding weights

    it is not about the weight in the van

    each model vehicle weighs a different amount

    for example a van may weigh 800 and a gsi 900, due to different engines

    springs have a poundage rating (max weight) the poundage of the van spring will be lower than the poundage of the gsi spring

    you will be able to fit the springs on the front but the springs wont work properly as they will be compressed more and probably lower the car too much.


    my explanation may not make sense to you, if this is the case, may I suggest you start a thread in the mk4 chassis help section

    Yeh i c wot u mean mate mayb jus giv it a miss then if cnt find much buy new set later on! fort was a bargain if they fit! thanks

    Any thoughts on wether 40mm lowering springs currently on a mk4astra van would fit ok onto a mk4 gsi ?? They were used simply for show neva really carried any weight ??

    there are a couple of kits in the classieds, on e is Pi the other is Eibach, these may be of use to you.

    If you can afford it, maybe go for the raceland coilovers, people rate them highly, a complete setup is £150 new
