Air filter choice, Panel or Cone???

Just looking at the next modification of my astra, should i consider a replacement panel filter (and keep the air feed inlet) or get rid of my air box and slap a cone filter with cold air feed????

Whats the best one?? Is there a best one?? Pros and Cons??

    Thanks AOC

If it was up to me I'd go for the panel due to heat soak.

I always prefer the air box with a decent panel filter from courtnay or K&N then a larger air scoop from a vectra or Dbilas, youll get no heat soak and it fills your engine bay out better.
It may not sound as good but i think they are alot better.

Also your best de-restricting your airbox.

yh ive heard alot about leaving it in, so alot of people going for the replacement panel filter and not the cone, is this all down to the heat soak from the engine?? or do u just prefer it caz it fills the engine bay with the air box plastics??

Both really, the engine bay looks bare with a cone filter in, however big it is. And you get heat soak even with a cold air feed.

I used to have a K&N with cold air feed, but then i went back to the air box with a K&N panel and Veccy C pipe and i thought it was alot better, seemed to rev a little bit more freely.

I have a K&N cone filter with a cold air feed in there atm and it does look a little bit messy in there tbh, i'll keep it for the cold winter then buy myself a decent panel filter in the spring ready for the warmer air! It does sound good though although i cant really hear it anymore over my exhaust!!
