vauxhall, kwik fit or halfords to fix my...

seatbelt? my middle rear seatbelt has gone slack and wont return to it's normal position, the above garages are a 10 min drive from me but who should i go too without being ripped off? m.o.t aint till march but wanna get it sorted now, after vx charged me £279 for front discs and pads i'm a bit wary of going back to them tbh

oh dear, my mk4 middle belt did the same thing and it was knackered, needed the entire unit which i doubt halfords or kwikfit will do. It will fail its mot if in place, i removed mine to get it though. imo i would go to vauxhall and if it has failed (broke) within 3 years, ask is this normal and see if they will give a little towards replacement. hth.

You will need to strip down the rear seat to fit the new mechanism, as it also connects into the hinge at the bottom centre & the latch mechanism top left corner.

Its a fiddley job but it can be done yourself...... But before you do, check that the seat it locked back correctly as they are know to stop working if not..... Check the pin down beside the middle lower hinge is working when the seat is in position and when its unlocked to put the seat back forward.
