    Air mass sensor fault

i have a astra 2.0 gsi, i have had problems with my air mass sensor for some time. i put my foot down to boot it then all of a sudden my engine light came on, and then when i came to a stop it cut off, i have put my old air box on all orgianl stuff, took my battery off, then when i put it back on turned my car on all lights are off and then it idles about 4000-5000 revs and it trys too cut out. i unplugg my airmass sensor wire and then turn car off turn it back off and it runs at defauly mode 6000revs but doenst try and cut out but lights are still on.

doenst anyone know what i can do??? my friend told me about an earth problem which is common on vauxhalls??

is there any diagrams out there??
