    maths

    Any one under stand all this stuff

    pi x r x r d

    3.142 x 4.5 x 4.5 x 9

    Its driving me mad, i am trying to work out how many cubic cm will fit in a cylinder without using a calculator, dos any one know a formula to work it out in your head or on paper.
    I did this sum 4 time's tonight and ended up with fore different answers and none of them right, did it on a calculator and got it right first time.
    Please anyone help me.

    you've already specified the formula... and I don't understand how you can do it on a calculator but not on paper? - it's exactly the same process!

    on a calculator u just put
    3.142 x 4.5 x 4.5 x 9
    and it tells me

    so.. why can't you do that on paper?

    3.142 x 4.5 = result
    result x 4.5 = result 2
    result2 x 9 = answer.

    Also depends on what 'mode' you have your calculator in as 3.142 x 4.5 x 4.5 x 9 is different to, for example, 3.142 x(4.5x(4.5x9))
