diesels always do well from a remap, aslong as its done by a decent company and the fuel air and boost map is done right it should be fine

yep should be fine obviously clutch etc are going to wear quicker as theyre working harder but otherwise should be ok

dont forget the common faults like swirl flaps etc these arent caused by modding as they happen on standard vehicles aswell

To get 212 bhp from a remap alone is being a little optimistic IMO, most companies will tell you to expect around the 185 - 195 mark on a remap so that they are not claiming something that they cannot achieve. Again the maps/tuning boxes tend to show different figures on different rolling roads so it may show 212 on one RR but 198 on another.

Your car should be fine with either a remap or tuning box but as astrasxicdti has said, your clutch etc may wear quicker.

I bought 1.9cdti other week with the remap from regal motorsport. I have the flash unit and different programs for it. At the mo it's set on 160 standard and think (correct me if I'm wrong) 185 when sport button pressed. To be honest I can really tell the difference when button pressed. But I can't help thinking is this box doing any harm?????

you should if you drive it normaly because of the extra power the car doesnt need 2 work as hard hense etter fuel .. but its all down to your right foot cause with it on if you wack it down you will get worse mpg..

i have a dtuk green box and have 202bhp 323torq but its all the time with button of or on lol and i can get 200-250miles to £20 if i drive it of boost with the blast here and there but probs 70% echo driving
    astra cdti 202bhp 323 lb-ft torque 45mpg
audi tt 180bhp and no lb-ft torque lol
