Hmmmm, got a bit of a situation here now.
Just called my broker to find out how much my premium would increase by to add a set of Penta's to the car. Was told by the broker that my insurance company, Zenith, will not allow for any modifications to the car at all.
He called the insurance company on my behalf and to find out if they would at all, but as expected, came back to me and said they would not cover any modifications. His suggestions to be to keep the original wheels, or to change to wheels of the same size (which I assumed would still be classed as a modification).
Now, dilema as to what to do, keep insurance, get Penta's and obviously not declare them, or forget about Penta's altogether and wait til my premium is renewed in June 2010 and get Penta's and go with an insurance company who would insure the wheels ... ?!
Another thought would be to find another insurance company, then cancel my policy with Zenith, meaning I would not get my 2nd NCB in June 10.
Couple of questions for you guys:
Firstly, how much from your experience(s) does it normally cost insure wheels which have been added as a mod? Obviously the Penta's are still VX parts...
Secondly, is there any form of insurance which would allow me to insure just the wheels at all? Just a random thought I had when I came off the phone to the broker.
Help/answers/opinions muchly appreciated...
