    Buying Car Advice

I'm just in the process of buying a new car, it's a used vehicle and is valued at 8k. Now the thing is the vehicle is owned by his grandad and his grandson is selling it on his behalf. All the documents have been pre-signed on advance. The grandson has told me to give him the cash and he'll pass it on, as his grandad isn't about. Also the grandson has a different surname to the grandad which isn't uncommon,. but I just want to make sure I don't get stung. The doucuments are all there and appear legit, I've done a carcheck and nothing comes back suggesting the vehicle is dodgy.. Also had an AA inspection done on the car which went well but i don't think they really check if the car is stolen or not. It has full bmw service history as well, not sure if this is of amy use? so I'm not too sure what the best way to progress is? Only ever bought 1 car and my uncle sorted that out for me lol.

i would suspect either the gandad is dead or in a nursing home

not sure how that would go as they could be selling it without him knowing

what would happen if you bought it and say another family member finds out and goes to the police ? can they take it back ?

Does the grandson have power of attorney, if not it could be selling a stolen vehicle.
Where are the grandson’s parents in all of this ie the grandfather’s son/daughter – they should surely be handling something like this.
