Went to move the car forward today and it just didn't start. Never happened to me before lol It was just turning, like the starter motor wasn't engaged. So I had a look under there and the cambelt hasn't snapped (Thank God!) I had a friend look down there as I was turning the engine and the cambelt was moving. So this means that the starter motor is engaged right? Me and my mate tried bumping it down a slight hill and it just wouldn't catch? It tried and tried but was just kangarooing? It's like it's getting no fuel/spark?
The car is well kept and needs for nothing so I'm not sure what the problem is? It's a 1.8 x18xe1 2000 plate. It started earlier but now it just won't start now lol??? The only things I've done today is fill up with more screenwash and put my colour coded bump strips on. Could I have spilt too much screenwash/water on some electrics?? I'm at a loss. If I take the coilpack out and put it near an earth will they spark? This way I can test for a spark??
There is petrol in the tank and the battery is newish.
Please if anyone has some advice I'd be very grateful to hear it. If anyone knows how to read the codes on these engines let me know please. It's an X series so the pedal test doesn't work. Thanks for any help - Tom
Just went outside and smelt for fuel whilst my dad turned the engine and it smelt of fuel so I'm getting fuel just no spark. What would suddenly cause no spark??
