Yerrr thats mainly all labour costs, seems a tad steep but not far off. Track rod end is just a ball joint hooking up your steering to the hubs and keep your tyres flat on the floor

You could have bought a GT3 exhaust for near that price and fitted it yourself

I hope the £90 track rod end included labour, they're about £13 new for the part, had one of mine done last year.

Yeah mate, those prices are all including labour.

Am I the only one who finds it hard to trust garages lol, I mean Iíve been going to this place for years and they seem ok, but I mean they can just charge you what you want a lot of time, and unless you know what youíre talking about itís hard to question them.

I mean I didnít even know what a track rod was, let alone whether it needed replacing!

Canít complain about the clutch though, it wasnít slipping but was really high and I couldnít stand it any longer, I knew from looking on this site it would be a lot with all the labour charges. Exhaust needed doing as well, as it was corroded and every time I went up a hill it made a farting noise like a boy racer at around 2000rpm lol. Wasnt sure about prices though.

Although Iím glad it seems more or less reasonable for the amount of work doing.

90 quid for trackrod end seems way to expensive, seems all they do is

undo it the bolt that holds to the strut

then crack the nut, un wind it

put new one on to the same ammount of turns

tighten back to the strut, check tracking lol..

i did one yesterday on a rover 200, whilst removing the steering rack

ok so im seriously pssed off now! Just rung garage to be told that something else was so corroded they had to cut it off, and they are gonna charge me another 80quid for a new one to be fitted, they always seem to say this to me, like when they couldnt open my bonnet, so had to cut through the grill, charging me 60quid for a new one. They are seriously taking pss now! So angry!
