Is my car too old to mod?

Seems like a stupid question but i am getting really paranoid about starting to put money into my car as it may be getting a bit old and too late.

    I have an astra g 1.8SRi. Its a 52 plate and has 75000 miles.

and i have been thinking about buying some new wheels etc but i just dont have the confidence to confirm buying things.

    What do you think?

    Cheers, Kev.

Grab your bollocks and make a decision.....

Just remember the golden rules on money and modding:
    • Do it for yourself, not just because someone else tells you to...
    • You will not get the same money you spend on mods if you decide to sell them later...
    • No car is too old to mod....look at how many 19xx year cars are modded in usa !
    • Take your time choosing as you will waste money changing your mind...
    • If you want to be different - think outside the box .. but be aware that there is a trade off between cost and satisfaction

As above thats a fairly young car and worth doing if its something your wanting to do. I'm currently going mad on a 04 Vectra-C with 80k, its costing a lot but its something I'm doing for myself.

ive been having the same thoughts, but o a different level, i have a 03 1.8 astra G but i'm worried about putting money into it because if i save the money i want to spend on modding i should be able to afford a GSi in around 18 months. But what do i do, do i wait and save my money and if i cant find a decent GSi then just pour my money into my 1.8? or do i keep my 1.8 relativly standard for not and then just take the plunge? ive also been thinking of going mad and doing the 1.8 dbilas turbo conversion coz its cheaper than buying a GSI (at the momeny by around 2k) and i love my car so i dont want rid lol... difficult

Same boat as you, except mine is a 51 plate on 117k. I'm also limited with knowledge & confidence to do. If i knew how to do half/most the stuff i wanted to do, then it'd look a lot different to what it does today.

On top of that, i think, if i save the money i would end up putting into it, it could go towards the next car, which may be a Golf GT TDI 130, or possibly a MK4 Astra GSI.

And on top of that, we'll be moving out of home in 2yrs to setup ourselves, so cash has to be monitored pretty closely for the next 24 months.
