    fault code hell

welcome to the fault code hell that is my coupe !

last night while already nursing at least 3 fault codes my TC kept flashing up and then staying on.... OK AFM i think... but upon checking the codes its not there!

then last night just for shits and giggle she desides na.. **** you ive had enough and dies on me at the trafic lights... wont start...

got her going but idle is all over the shop now...dash is like a christmas tree the now!

i aint been near the car today to check the codes and try another AFM yet so i cant be sure on them as yet.

i do know so far i have a Air con fault, secondry water pump fault. collant light is on, airbag light is on ( from the crash ) engine and spanner are on too..

im starting to loose the love again... fast!

OH and just to complete the fun!

after getting all the alignment done etc 3 weeks ago the stearing wheel is away to the right again... under power im pulling to the left and off power im away to the right! and ghetting a bad knock from front right suspension.... again!

    when will this ever end!

    anyway...

am i correct in saying that when the TC light stays on and u loose the correct idle its usualy a AFM issue?

If the wheels is off and tracking is out, that can bring on the TC light.

Has a boost pipe popped off Stu?, that causes some off the issues, like a AFM failure but feels alot worse

Hope you get this sorted Stu! Can you post up the solution if you find it because I'm having a similar intermittent fault with my traction control and spanner light, with a corresponding (momentary) loss of power. Have you checked the sensors on the wheel hubs? Perhaps one of the sensors has been unplugged or damaged when the suspension was being adjusted. I know my o/s one is a bit loose which might be casuing the problem.

it was the AFM guys... that was the simple problem to fix tho..

its all gone tits up today...

I suspected there was something up 3 days ago when i was driving back from selkirk.... i put the foot down and the car pulled to the left, so let of the power only for the bugger to go right....

hmmmm... i suspected it was something to do with the right front but had no time to check it out fully so made sure the wheel was no falling off lol then headed on my way...

today got it up to the garage and up on the ramp..... **** ME!

erm... not a happy bunny.... drop link has snapped AGAIN!, hub and wheel has about 10mm play in it too.. at first we looked and instantly said its the ball joint, as it was a second hand wishbone i had fitted when i smashed it......BUT then we had another look... could it be the hub? as it wasnt replaced when the car was damaged?

I started to look about for wishbones as i need the car asap as i sold the corsa so im now carless AGAIN! and thought thats gr8.. i can get a new wishbone for not allot by the morning good stuff.... well i thought so.... seems that according to 4 diff places that the turbos modles look the same and in fact ARE the same except for the ball joint... apparently the turbo ones are slightly bigger.....

urm.. vauxhall seem to say otherwise tho.... im stumped.....

had enought o this car for now... seriously thinking of fixing and selling now...
