    Cambelt change?

Hi there, just joined the forum, seem like a helpful bunch

Anyway, i've got a astra mk4 1.6 lpg (02 reg), and it needs the cambelt and water pump replacing.
I just need to buy the parts, as i have a freind who can fit it.

So can anyone point me in the direction as to where i can buy these 2 items? Preferably not vauxhall (expensive!)

(by the way am i right in thinking the engine is a 8v?)

    Many thanks in advance guys

Hello mate and welcome, your engine can be either 8v or 16v in that year model, post some pics of engine and it can be identified for you. the best place for vauxhall quality parts, but alot cheaper than main dealer prices is http://www.autovaux.co.uk very good people with superb service

Sorry to sound stupid, but im just about to order the parts, just wanted to check if they are the right ones

    Cambelt:
    http://www.autovaux.co.uk/LoadPortal...bid=5&vnum=128

It says its a timing belt kit, is that another name for a cambelt?

sorry for sounding like a complete noob

    thanks again

yes - timing belt and cam belt are the same thing

8v kit is mega easy and thus cheap

belt, tensioner & tensioner bolt is all u need............plus of course the water pump is advisory (not included in kit)

may wish to ring Autovaux first to ensure its the correct kit for your Z16SE engine as the kit listed is part number 93188125 and the correct one for yours is 93188126

IF you would rather source the parts elsewhere - ive got a brand new belt spare if u want that for a few quid then all u need is the tensioner

again u may find a cheapy on ebay or elsewhere

Cheers for the reply mate, i think i will be best off calling them, just to make sure i get the right one.

And she has just done 72,0000 miles, got her for 1400 when i first bought her.

(Must say im enjoying the 50p a litre lpg refuelling part)
