    Lowering Query

Hi Guys. Been hoping to lower my car roughly 30mm-40mm and I've heard a few myths about rubbing on the inner arches. Would I need to have them rolled for only a 30mm-40mm drop? Didn't think rubbing would be an issue at this height?

    Thanks in advance, Matt.

Whether they'll rub depends on the wheel size, tyre size and offset. OEM 16" won't rub at 40mm drop, probably OK for even more of a drop too.

Well its not that much info, but im hoping to either get some 16" or 17" alloys soon. No idea on the width of type and/or tyre type as of yet. Just trying to get a heads up of any complications I MAY run into. Cheers nry

I went from non-rubbing OEM 16's to some rub like buggery 17's purely because the 17's have an ET35 offset which is a little large really.

18"s lol, well thats good news to hear! Unless it was the guy at the garage trying to cough some extra hard earnt spondoolies out of me, but he said, and I quote "I'd suggest getting a quote for the arches to be modified when lowering the cars standard ride height. In my experience I've seen many people lower the ride height of their cars by only 40mm and the tyres have rubbed, and as a result, have blown"

    Complete BS?

Some people do put stupid wheel choices on so I guess yeah, 'some' people would have problems...
