    P0335 Fault Code

    hi,

I did the paperclip test this morning and got 10 blinks - 3 blinks - 3 blinks - 5 blinks. Now if I am not mistaken that is the foult code P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction.
How do I fix that problem? Just buy a new crankshaft sensor and replace it? If yes, is that easy to do and where is the crankshaft sensor located?
    The car is Astra G 1999 1.6 16v X16XEL.

    thanks in advance
    cheers

i just replaced one of these recently on an x16xel. it is situated at the back of the crankshaft pulley, best got at on a pair of ramps. it is held by one torx bolt and a few wiring clips. make sure you get a quality replacement or it will malfunction again quickly

thanks, I'll give it a shot when the part comes in. How much would a garage charge for that if I can't do it myself?

New crankshaft sensor will fix it. £25 from Autovaux. Oh and if you can't DIY it then I'd suggest you probably wear velcro shoes and get mummy to do your coat up when you leave the house.

    it's child's play

If you can operate a spanner or ratchet, then you can replace a crankshaft sensor.
