Urgent - issue with suspension, is it ok to drive??

I hit a pothole this morning and there is now a gap between that round plastic top cap (under the bonnet at the top of the suspension) and the cars bodywork. Is it dangerous to drive?? Im at work, need to get home!

How much of a gap? alot of people have this and deem it normal after fitting coilover kits from what ive read, personally it would scare me and mine are solid onto the strut, but as said if you search, quite a few people have this as standard

hi mate thanks for the reply. With all the nocking sound its making I dont know how anyone can put up with it! The shock is still bolted on at the bottom and the top nut is still tight so Im going to drive it home, but at the weekend I will refit it all.
I don't see how it can be normal, the gap is only 1 side and is 1-2cm
