    shark fin aerial

    just wondered if any one new if it was hard or not to fit a shark fin aerial??

    can ya not just get one that will cover ya existing aeriel *-) so no wiring involved just slotting it over the top, if ya get me :P

    You can do it but it looks difficult taking the headlining out or dropping it down enough! The problem with that type of aerial is poor performance compared to the one supplied with the Astra. Anything which is electrically shortened (loaded) will be worse. Check if it has a preamp in the new aerial and whether there is any supply you can attach it to. One without a preamp is a waste of time, it would be like cutting your existing aerial and leaving about an inch.
    I did see a "how-to" months ago but can't remember which site.
    They don't look good on the Astra, they look a bit unusual. I always see them and think of someone wishing they had a BMW!

    haha i just think they look smarter than that big thing stikin up, if you cant get them in a straight swap am not gunna bother
