    Too much battery power?

I'm thinking of changing my battery as some of you may have read, and seeing as I have trade discount at Vauxhall, i was just going to buyu a 70A diesel battery.

I've been looking at some things online and it turns out that i can have a 300A slimline Stinger battery for about 65, so i thought about having two of these and split charging. The Stinger slim yellow batteries would fit perfectly either side of my sub enclosure in the boot.

Is it possible to have TOO much battery power or does the car only use what it needs and everything else is left over?

    Thanks in advance

If you are running split charge you should be fine. After all most of the cars electrics are run off the alt anyway. I may be wrong though elecs aint my strong point. Saying that I aint got a strong point lol

The car will just draw what it needs.

Its like having a swimming pool and just taking a cup of water out or a bucket of water.

The battery/battery's are just stores of power.

So effectively i've got X amount of power when i need it, and when i don't it's just there?

I can pound my system without the engine when want and then when i'm driving only what's needed will be used?

    Cheers

As Lee says... but the limiting factor is how much juice the alternator pushes out, when the engine is running.

To use the swimming pool analogy... you can empty it with a cup, bt if it's not being filled up as fast as you bailing it out, it will eventually empty.

I've often thought about beefing up the alternator, but as i'm building a Redtop i didn't see the point just yet. And i've only recently had my belts changed so i couldn't be bothered having to mess about again.
