I need some advice with my '98 astra, standard 1.6 ecotec engine.
I've had some tappet failure problems and already had some work done, but less than six months on the death rattles are back.
I've been careful as the car is cheap natty yet essential runner, can't afford not to keep it that way, so it gets the respectful use a car on the 90,000 side of life needs to keep rolling nicely.
I'm wondering whether as the noise has come back suddenly whether this might be symptomatic of an oil pressure problem, maybe not just worn tappets?? And whether fixing the car (paid £800) is even worth doing???
ANY advice at all would be Very gratefully appreciated!!
