Smile MK4 Astra Blue LED speedo lights

Probably been asked quite a few times, but are there any LED's that fully illuminate the speedo? I know LED's only have a small angle of light. I heard about possibly sanding the ends of the LED's? Would that work?

Also what would happen if I fitted clear needles? Would they illuminate blue?

What colour is the speedo fascia, white or black?

I have a white set and replaced the standard bulbs with some flat topped and lightly sanded LEDs, they aren't bright during the day but are certainly bright enough at night to show the dials well.

The flat tops and the sanding help disperse the light better.

If you don't have clear needles now then it isn't straight forward to put some in and have them lit without running extra LEDs to light them but it can be done.

I've got the white SRI clocks with red needles.

Like you say the LEDs can't really be seen during the day although they do light up quite well in the dark (there are patches that aren't covered by the LEDs). Therefore I was hoping the flat top LEDs or sanding would help.

As for the needles you have saved me some hassle if you have to install LEDs to light them. I was just hoping that i could replace them with clear ones and they would just light up.

Like the sig "They're foglights not headlights!" by the way.

    Another quick question.

Can I remove the orange filter from the MFD? Or do I need to buy a newer MFD?

    Regards
