As far as i'm aware they can not tell as most maps are related to as ghost maps. Only thing is if the car was under warranty and they worked on the ecu they could delete the map without knowing and put it back to standard. Its the risk you take I suppose.

Always declare every mod, as said above, anything not declared could render your insurance invalid!

why declare it and have your premium hiked if its undetectable?if you make a claim and the ascessor comes down will he connect up to the ecu and claim that was the reason for the accident? because you modified the ecu?

its possible yes! if your cars too badly damaged and impounded, then you got no way of gettin it out the way!

Imagine if you had it mapped, didnt tell insurance, went out n boosted cos of the map into another car, insurance invalid and you sat there wanting to know how you gonna live with yourself knowin that extra £XX could have got your pride and joy repaired along with the other person!

how would you feel if someone hit you in that situation and you found out ya gettin nothing back! wrecked car sat on ya drive n no one payin to fix it, aint your fault either!

sickens me how many people would risk it! just to save a couple of quid!

if you can afford the remap - then pay the increase in insurance!
