63mm JBi Intercooler Astra Gsi - How well do they fit??

    Hi there,

Looking at getting the 63mm JBI intercooler kit to go with my 63mm Tophat and boostpipe, are they much harder to fit to a GSi with aircon? was looking at getting the 57mm kit but thought it would be better to keep eveything from tophat to intercooler 63mm or does it not matter?

The car will soon be running stage 2 260bhp~ , 2.5" milltek full system, cdti airbox, 63mm tophat and boostpipe, fmic, would 57mm be ok for this?

    Cheers

    Nick

Hi,dont know if your interested but a frined of mine has a brand new fmic for the mk4 with 57mm(i think might be 63mm tho..) silicone hoses and alloy joiners,he never fitted the fmic due to writing his coupe off..is brand spanking new....think he wants 300 for it all posted....i dont think it includes the slim fan or map sensor pipe tho....
on my kit which uses 57mm pipe work i just used a vxr map sensor pipe which does the job nicely.....
give me a shout if interested and i will ask if he still has it,
    cheers,
    edy

iv got one on my coupe turbo, fits fine mate, if you have any problems give jack a call and he will help you out.
63mm pipes are better for more free flowing of the air

i found the pipe work a bit pants you get what you pay for
also it was a bit hard to fit also due to the pipe work getting in the way
new Fan set up just bolts onto Rad Not good will damage rad over time
why do companys spend all that money making fan mounts ??? they dont just look nice

i found 57mm pipe work tricky to fit so 63mm wont be easy.

bigger pipes dont mean more power atall. there are people running 300bhp on standard 51mm pipework so dont assume bigger is better as its not always the case.

i used a universal fmic with 57mm pipework and standard 51mm tophat and it added 18bhp and 13 lbft according to regals rollers.

63mm pipe work will mean less top end power ~ but more power lower in the rev range and for longer
also with bigger pipe work the air will slow down an spend a bit more time in the intercooler
