    HTC vs iPhone vs Blackberry?

It seems that phones have finally merged successfully enough with other gadgets like MP3 players, PDA's etc, and I'm debating arranging a better handset for work use. Ideally I would like the following:

Sync phone data with Outlook (calendar, contacts, tasks)
    Touchscreen
Smaller is better for carrying this in my pocket instead of a mobile
No need to sync with Exchange etc

Managing and recording the jobs I need to do is currently a pain, my mobile has a task list thing but being a normal mobile keypad makes it a right pain to input anything other than a few words, and accessing the tasks is so fiddly I never bother. In ways this is the main area I want to improve on and hope that a better handset with decent software would be beneficial.

I have a work mobile through Vodaphone and I'm tied to them, but I can obviously get SIM Free handsets for Blackberry and HTC devices etc. Vodaphone are soon to start selling the iPhone but I do have a penchant for Windows based devices. I like the look of the forthcoming HTC Touch II, seems to tick all the boxes for me but I've not really used anything beyond a normal mobile and an older Windows PDA.

Anyone got any thoughts on these things? Plenty of reviews out there, but real life experience is sometimes more relevant!

Cheap at half the price! I do like Nokia in general but the HTC Touch II is a fair few hundred quid cheaper...

I had a Samsung Omnia and tried a couple of others. IMO touch screens are poo, they just don't work nicely and end up frustating you when trying to use them everyday. Nice gizmo to show off down the pub though.

I am looking at a Blackberry Bold for my next phone.

    A blackberry of course.

That's what they were designed for - business use and to keep you organised.

    Have used all of them.

Have an iPhone as a personal phone and it suits me down to the ground, however for what you are saying then the blackberry and HTC would be much better out of the box for your needs.

Play with both and see which you prefer tbh.

Would advise you to stay away from the Blackberry storm as that was a disaster from start to finish imo

Well after much deliberation I have ordered (through work) a HTC HD2 - a little big, but with a capacitive touch screen and the superb HTC interface it meets every need I can think of - not released until Friday but has had very good reviews (bar some saying when you do end up within the WinMobile 6.5 interface it is crap, luckily this is rare).

The only way i would recommend a blackberry for serious business use is if you are receiving over 100 emails a day .... otherwise iphone would be my choice!!
Everything I do has total support of my wife ...... which is nice!
