    Sick Gsi

    Hey guys and galls wondering if anyone could help. i ve got a 04 plate Gsi that smokes real bad when at low speeds and idle also im haveing too top up the oil every couple days. Cant see no oil leaks underneath was thinkin with the smoke valve seals are shot but not really sure any advice would be grateful cheers also eml is on but goes off now and again have changed AFM light was turned off then came on couple days later.

    prob the usual suspect being the turbo

    check the turbo, but also bare in mind excessive smiking could also be related to the headgasket!

    Find out what colour smoke it is first of all.

    Easy way to find out if its HG, do a Compression test.

    i know the test for the head gasket ill get that checked new to turbocharged car so not really clued up on how what too look out for cheers for the advice

    i thought it might be the valve seals cause it has become tappety not good for 60k on engine

    Blue is normally oil related and could be suggested turbo or stem seals.
