Cool My Astra mk4 SRi Turbo

Bought in July with 33,000 miles, new MOT, service, with refurbed alloys - £5k.

3 hour drive and got it back home -

Already i had purchased a debadged grille and armrest from LMF so the next day i got around to fitting them -

GSi rear lights were next on the shopping list along with a debagde....

Window tints went on later that week - medium back 3 and light fronts,

Irmy heater rings went on and then straight off as they looked odd imo -

Then i wanted the OEM sharkeyes so purchased from Sel imperial and went about installing them with the much needed help from Enigma and Unreal.

Began to take the bumper off and found some rusty rounded off screws inside the arch.
Couldnt for the life of me get them out. Loosened with WD40 and managed to get 3 loose.

Nipped the car down to Vauxhall to see if they would politely remove the offending screw to which they replied "yes sir, we can book you in for tomorrow at £85 an hour labour charge." I said "thanks.....bye"

Drilled the screw out in the end and replaced it with copper greased and a plastic nut on top.

Anyway, got the bumper off and fitted a new lower grille at the same time -

Motors from the headlights werent long enough to reach the headlight adjuster in the headlight. Drilled a hole in the motors and glued in the transport piece that was holding the lens in place for delivery. Works like a dream.

One dodgy HID kit and a new kit from HID-direct later, and they work spot on.

Cheeky bonnet lifters were nabbed from somebody on here for £12 - nice and easy to install using 2p pieces as washers

    Then some interior mods -

    Irmy door pins -

    Stereo -

CD drawers and SRi pedals -

Colour coded and delocked door handles -

With a spare set of bump strips ready to give to the body shop to also go on.....

And then my latest mod that i picked up from Dan yesterday -

Needs a bit of spot welding on the pipe of the back off the box but will get that done and get it on asap!

Future plans at the moment are -

Rocker cover gasket is first to fix, iridium sparks, lowering of some description, sprayed up centre console, colour coded bump strips, uprated boost pipe, airbox, get rid of crossover, and then move onto the bigger stuff, VXR turbo, injectors...and then a remap.

Milltek has been welded up and is now on the car.
Shes a beast when on boost. Lovely cruising tone so motorway is all good. Past 2500rpm she roars.

    Video at weekend

Lowered on eibach sportline 50/30's with bilstein shocks. Not 100% sure about the 30mm at the rear as i think it should be a bit lower.

And also fitted my blue steering controls, window switches and headlight switch box.

Also started making these gauge holders ->

In the pipe line to do asap ->

    1) 2.2 Airbox
    2) Oil catch tank
    3) Blue leds in speedo, heater and mfd
    4) Still to fit boost pipe
    5) Gloss black rocker cover with stainless bolts
    6) Spray up spark cover
    7) Spray full centre console gloss black
8 ) Fit volt meter and boost gauge

Had a full service thanks to Daz!

Grooved discs and yellow stuff pads (front only) went on last week as well and by golly they work well!

Failed MOT though on emissions. Lambda reading was all over the place and a crack in the milltek back box. Gutted i had to miss out on the group buy TX intercooler.

Ordered a new lambda sensor (precat) and paid for a brand new milltek backbox from m5dkw82, with warranty slip this time.

Pics tomorrow of that going on and hopefully stick it back on the emissions machine to make sure that the lambda reading is correct. My mpg has dropped as low as 22mpg so hoping that its all fixed up.

Oh and yes ive ordered a new centre cap
