Buying advice needed for cabriolet turbo

Hi chaps, I'm going to look at a Mk4 convertible turbo tomorrow and wondered if anyone had any advice for things to look out for with the engine and also the power hood. I own a Mk4 currently so know most of the normal things to look for but if any turbo or cabby owners can add some other more useful info it would be much appreciated!

The car is an 04 plate and has done 59,000 miles. I don't think it has had any engine work done as it's not mentioned - I will be able to spot any when I go to see it though!

Erm i think white or blue smoke coming from exhaust means knackered turbo, so check for that. This was what i was told when looking to buy a turbo lol

As above, the No1 thing to watch out for. They can go at almost any mileage.

Also check for oil leaks from the rocker cover gasket. Easy fix but a bargaining point nonetheless.

Take a test and dont be shy to accelerate hard and check the engine pulls hard and the boost is smooth.

Other than that, just check out for any usual signs that its had a hard life.
