    Centre Console Colour Coded

Hey guys [& girls]. Finally got my centre console sprayed and fitted by following the "How To" on the site [great help, everyone should follow it]

Here is the full [ish] right up on my BIO:

    http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/sh...=1#post2000010

Didn't see the point in posting everything twice, but I couldn't resist putting the below picture here:

It went from all black, to half silver, to fully colour coded to Star Silver 2 [Z147] like my car

I also moved the H/U to the bottom DIN Slot, but the little box that is now in the top DIN Slot doesn't fit properly as it did in the bottom one.

Has anyone else come across this?

    Comments welcome.

    Cheers buddy.

Pretty easy yeah. Just followed the "How To" from this site and took my time with it.

    Cost wise;

    2 300ml cans of colour
    2/3 300ml cans of primer
    2/3 300ml cans of lacquer
2 packs of mixed wet and dry sanding paper

About £5.00 for the 2 packs of wet and dry and then £5.99 per 300ml can of each thing.

But I already had 1 tin of each from ages ago so saved a few quid. All together if from scratch I'd say around £45-£55 plus the satisfaction of doing it yourself.
    Totally worth it IMO.

I did move my headunit to the lower din slot and found the black box not to be a perfect fit and to be a little loose. Console looks good mate

    Cheers Mike.

Yeah it's nowhere near as tight a fit at the top as it is at the bottom. Nevermind.

Yeah, it's not too bad for a first attempt.

Thankfully it has got a good tight grip in the bottom slot. Just been for a ride out though and everytime I went to change the track or adjust the volume, I went for the top DIN slot
I can see myself doing that quite a lot as it has been at the top for 4/5 years.

Did you remove the plastic cage bit from the top did slot to help it fit properly?

Do you mean the bit right at the back that would hold the back end of the H/U in?

If so, no. I saw it whilst I had everything off but figured it would be wide enough.
