The problem im having is to do with z20let brakes.
What i am wanting to know is if i have been ripped off when i have bought some brakes but im guessin only you turbo guys will know.
I bought some brakes when i was getting my z20let engine etc etc and the guy told me they were off a coupe turbo same as where my engine came from but when i came to fit the discs they were already the same size as mine that were on 2.0 sri 288mm or 280 whatever they are so i thought yey already got turbo brakes on as i bought the car as a gsi lookalike so i put them on ebay and someone asked what size of discs were so i measured and told them and i got a message back along the lines of you conning bas***d they not turbo brakes people like you shouldnt be allowed to use ebay. Shocked i removed the listing and they have been in my garage ever since.
Today i have been clearing my garage out and have had a thought what if the person i bought the brakes off had had the wrong size discs fitted when having a brake change so i thought id have a look at the pads to see if they had wore wrong and what a surprise there is a lip all the way round the edge of the old pads
The question im asking is on the 308mm setup does the disc sit right up to the edge of the pads or should there be a lip like 10mm or something similar and i have been ripped off although i dont feel too hard done to as i only paid £40 for 4 discs and calipers and back discs were drilled which i have fitted already.
In my experiance there isnt a lip ever so guessin calipers are ok just need 308mm discs just hoping you guys can help before i buy some drilled n grooved 308's to find the calipers are actually wrong.
Thanks in advance and appologies for the rant lol
