    Sub Installation...

i have wired a sub and amp up... still use the CD30...

rca outputs are spliced into the back speaker wires...
the amp is on a switch and its connected to the remote lead on back of the climate control...

all works GREAT.. no problems with the setup.. but i have one issue...
the amp is 1600watt dual channel (bridagable also).... the sub is 1000watt (not sure on the RMS).... but the amp is turned up to the highest and its bassy when volume is on low.... but soon as u turn the cd player up to full u can even hear the sub.. surely the 7 speaker setup on the mk5 cant outpower a 1000wat sub!! ( i have the 7th speaker installed also)..

    so any ideas??

ok been out today and had a look... seems the right side of the amp isnt working... if i plug the left rca out i get no sound but if i leave left plugged in and right out i get sound... but if i use both rca leads in the left (use 1 then use other) i get sound so it cant be the rca apadpter so my guess is the amp but weirdly enough if it was the amp surely the full thing would go down..

    weird!!

The right hand channel of your amp is faulty.
Simple fix is to connect the sub to the left channel output & only use the left channel as a mono amp.
