    Fuel Guage

I've come to the conclusion the one on my mk4 is definatley naffed.

A tenner lasts me about 20 miles before it's back on the red and the dial goes from petrol light on to it topping itself back up or emptying completley if i brake hard it's at its highest when i start the engine or have been driving for 15-20mins +

Has anyone got the same problem? Is this a common fault, and how much to put it right?

    Thanks

put a tenner in then reset the trip meter, i would think you get around 80 miles out of a tenner. That doesnt sound right at all, i think your fuel guage is naff. fill up a gerry can with fuel and drive the car until it runs out of fuel then you will know if it is a dodgy guage if it runs out way before that.

80 miles... that would be bliss! Just thinking, if the guage is faulty how much fuel do i have sloshing around in the tank!
