    Child seat.

What's the difference between a 5 point safety harness and a 3 point?

Surely it is self explanitory? A 3 point safety harness has 3 points of contact to strap a body in and a 5 point harness has 5 points.

    A quick google search reveals:

"A three point harness has three attachment points, two at the shoulder and one between the legs. A five point harness has five attachment points, two at the shoulder, two at the hips, and one between the legs."

    Extract taken from:

    Hope this helps!

I would go for a 5 point harness as I know a few kids, even one of my own will not keep their arms in (and its hard to get them to stick the arms back in while driving.)

So the 3point harness would only have contact in one place, whereas the 5point would still have 3 contact places.
