    coilovers

What is the circled piece in the picture called and can you buy these seperate guys? i have purhased coilovers but this part has been cross threaded resulting in the threads being knackered.

also as it is only the first three threads that are knackered would it be possible to just chop off the first three threads and then just fit it -3 threads?

    thanks

Yea just chop damaged bit off. You will be fine with this bit missing as you wont need it.

As for name it is prob called rear adjuster platform.

You should be ok. try to get it nice and smooth. then file a taper on the start of the thread.

Or you could do what i did with the same coilovers. DONT fit them.

I have just got the springs on the rear on mine and about 20mm of thread left on the front.

Ride is quite firm but not bad. Easy to fit yes. as long as you remember to put the top bearings on. A lot forget to do this. Also you will need to get your camber reset

how mcuh does it cost forthe camber to be reset?

is this just getting it tracked?

do i need to get the camber done even though they have already bin on a car?

Nope tracking is different to camber. Camber is to do with the angle on the wheel top to bottom.

If you look at the front coilovers you will see one of the holes is elongated so when you bolt them to the car they might be at an angle.ie top of the wheel might sit too far in or out. Which will give tyre wear and handling problems.

As for cost i paid 45 to have mine done. But many places can set camber

If you are good with spanners you could do the lot in an hour if no problems. Give yourself a morning just in case.

Main tip is remove top nut under bonnet and remove top hat, then loosen the next nut under that one. Then put top hat back on and put the top nut back on a few turns before you jack the car up. Both of these are 18mm nuts
