johnsastra16v vs red rx8
Was looking forward to today, to give our RX-8 a good going over.
so to start
the car wasnt looking to bad, after a clean last weekend.
today though i wanted to get the wheels off to clean them well and also to sort the arches out.
jacked the car up 1 corner at a time, and removed the wheels
applied chemical guys degreaser to the arches and left to dwell
while i then applied billberry to the wheels
back to the arches and blasted with the pressure washer
before going back to the wheels and cleaning with various brushes and clayed with megs mild clay.
heres some of the tar that i had to deal with. although the rest of the car was almost spotless
wheels now back on and gleaming
lower areas of the car i applied the degreaser
and then the car was snowfoamed,
for some reason, today the foam looked asif it was sticking to the bodywork and leaving greasy marks. this may have been due to the degreaser though??
car was then washed with tbm using dodo juice B2BM
anyway, car blasted off and dried with dodo juice time to dry and a hge waffleweave towel.
once the car was dry, i lifted the bonnet, which already looked very clean.
plastics cleaned with chemical guys qd and then sealed ith the cg new look trim gel, which imo is a great product.
i then applied clearkote red moose glaze. only by hand though. buffed off to reveal a nice shiny surface.
hmmm, hard candy or concours?????
i'll try the concours i think
such a joy to use. so soft and appled effortlessly, almost like butter consistency. while it was left to haze, i attacked the black trim with the CG
and now the finishing pics
love to hear your comments
