    zenon headlamp problem

i have the xenon headlights, on a gsi. should be getting 2 lives up to the multi connector on the back of the headlightlight, but the yellow thicker wire, (the one that goes dead should a fuse blow im not getting anything?

    1, fuse is fine,
2, i stuck a tempary 12v down this wire and the light works fine
3, drivers side is the problem
    4 passanger side is fine.

does anybody know where the live for this comes from? and where the problem could lie?

just been reading about the ballast, well i have a new one on order as the old one was ****ed, was full of water and all corroded. i have just read that when the ballast goes it cuts voltage out down this wire and could need resetting to get power to come back down

how do i reset it so voltage will once again come down the wire.

The live comes directly from the fuse so there would have to be a break in the wire somewhere before or after the fuse

Check you have voltage at the fuse

where does it come from before the fuse,

please correct this if im wrong

    permanent live in to switch.
live to fuse from switch (when turned on)
live from fuse to head light.

can i use the yellow live on the other headlight to run it off?? and run it off the 1 fuse. if you see where im coming from. connect on to the yellow wire behind left headlight and run a new wire from it to the right headlight, or is this a no no

if i have no voltage at the fuse?? is it the switch.

i assume there is voltage at the fuse as the power ballast was blowing it when it was full of water,

It comes from the switch before the fuse

If your going to take a feed from the other light you will have to run it through a relay otherwise you'll overload the wiring and blow fuses

I relay is a electronic switch capable of carrying high amps

The voltage for the headlight comes direct from the switch but if that was faulty neither would work

    update.

i have voltage coming out of the switch and voltage going in to the fuse (left side)
but no voltage to the head light.

its either a broken wire from the fuse to the light or a fault with a relay or something in the wire (if there is one?) its strange as a week back when the ballast was playing up there was voltage coming down this wire and it was blowing fuses. i left the headlight not working for 2 days untill a new ballast arrives and when i change them over suddenly there is no voltage down the wire?

i ran the headlight with a wire off the battery, just to test it works and it works fine so i know thats not a problem.

There is no relay. I'd double check the fuse again, maybe replace it

have tried a few fuses in it. its not that buddy. its looking like a break in the wire, question i ask my self is why has it done it in the 2 days that the car had a nackered ballast.

this is how im thinking of running it, would this be ok?? and run them both off of 1 fuse. what position would the relay need to go, and what amp size would i need? and what amp wire??

just a thought, the relay on the fuse board, does it have 2 relays inside? or does this only work the full beam not the dipped beam.
