    swine flu??

my mrs went to the vets today and they've diagnoised her with swine flu, i've found myself having a really bad sore throat all weekend (like wire wool stuck down there), headache, earache, blocked nose and abit of a fever.

I havent got chance to book into a docs yet so im not sure if i do, from the symptons i think i have, but what do i do about work?? Im working about 50miles away from home at the minute, i'll be seeing my gaffer in the morning as he's coming out to site. do i tell him my mrs has been diagnosed with it and i think i've got it or try book myself into a docs first (ideally tomorrow night) and see what they reckon and them tell him or what??

    Cheers

    Matt

    Tell your boss about it.
    Go to the Docs.
    Take it from there.

They wont let you into the doctors, theyll do a questionnaire over the phone, 3 or more symptoms and its offto the local pick up point matey for the old tamiflu

If you have the fever then your sure as hell gunna have it so basically call your gaffer tell him and call the docs straight after

I've been working in one of the Antiviral Collection Points for the last few months, and basically the Tamiflu will only be effective if taken within approx 3 days of symptoms showing. However, saying that, Tamiflu will, at most, take the edge off some of the symptoms and possibly reduce the time you have the virus by 1 day. There are also several known side-effects to the drug, such as vomiting , diarrhoea, nightmares and hallucinations.

If you start to feel really bad, it might be worth going for the Tamiflu, although I would recommend bed rest, paracetamol and plenty of fluids.

Funny thing is i know someone who got a job at the call centre where they diagnosed over the phone. Hes an ex junkie with no qualifications... so was most of the others there... there was no control really of what they told people over the phone.
