    Elton John wants to adopt...

a 14 month old boy with his partner, David:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8252952.stm

Personally, I guess I've been bought up seeing same sex 'marriages' as not quite 'normal' (trying to be as PC as possible here), but I'm afraid I don't agree with two gay men adopting a young boy. If it was a girl, then I would feel differently I guess?

    Discuss?

He is 62, so on that thought, I think he is way too old to be a parent to a small child.

As for same sex relationships adopting, personally I dont have an issue with it, as long as its in the best interests of the children. They can provide a loving stable environment just aswell as a "normal" couple. There are many children out there in same sex marriages and it doesnt seem to be an issue.

I dont see a problem with it to be honest.

the kid will get a better way of life than most, hes more than likely to be loved because of the work going into them both adopting him etc etc

    Good luck to them both

Its when this is done by someone else in the public I would be worried, the kid would be bullied in school to no end. Though there is nothing to say this child won't be bullied.

    In my opinion it's wrong

I'd have to say I don't agree with it either. It will be very confusing for the child and he will no doubt be bullied alot because of it aswel. I might be being old fashioned but thats my opinion.

Also, Elton is 62 and that is far too old to have a child

    Personally I don't care.

Its not up to me to make the decision whether he does or does not adopt nor would I want it. If he wants to adopt then fair play to him, I'm sure he could give him a loving home and bring joy to a kids life thats probably at the moment not great at best.
    Its a jam thing

I think personally i am a little 'on the fence' about it, i think it should be done in the best interests of the child.

i gotta ask this... why would it make a diff if it was a girl? or if it was two women wanting to adopt a girl?

i personally dont see the issue with it...

i dont see how people think they can say he is or isnt a good person to be a father (or mother in this case ) figure to the child..

way to many kids out there who have noone to love them and care for them... the fact that he and his partner wish to then i think its good..

but as with life we are all intitle to our opinions.. some i agree with and some i dont..
