    XEV cam + Vernier pics

Got this fitted over the weekend before the big trip to trax. Its currently retarded 1/2 a tooth and the car pulls alot stronger now from 2k onwards, none of the waiting till 4k where others have said it kicks in. Felt so much more lively on the motorway and doesnt have the inital laggy feel anymore. Overall im happy with the mod and think its worth doing

Did you try the cam on its own? I was wondering what results I might get by just switching cams and not borthering retarding... sounds a bit beyond my skills.

No mate im sure someone on here has tried that not sure of the outcome. Its easy to change the cam though mate, its the same as doing a cambelt change but you you crank it round to TDC so the timing marks are on then undo the bolts on the vernier and crank it till its retarded then tighten the bolts on the vernier. Crank it round again to make sure the black line on the vernier lines up properly TDC

    Look for 2.0 Vectra's, Astra's, Calibra's

engine looks like the Z20 but no turbo.

The number on the cam is R90400056 Its stamped into the middle of the camshaft.

Sounds good if its made a big difference. Is it a higher lift cam?

Tempting as I need to do the cambelt soon anyway. The vernier isn't that cheap so if anyone has done this mod without it I'd be interested to know what its like.
