    Thumbs Up Help Needed Rite Now.....

    ive got a vauxhall astra 1.8 sxi. 2000 on x plate. 4 stud alloys.
    im tryin to change the rear pads. my question is do i need a brake caliper service kit to wind the piston back in or do they just push in like normal?

    need winding mate.halfords sell a tool for doing it.or get long nose pliers in cut outs and turn as your pushing in.worked for me anyway

    sometimes they can be pushed in, sometimes they need winded. It depends on what mood they are in. If you dont want to buy a piston winder clamp it with smoething and push it back that way or take the caliper off altogether and push the piston against something to force it back in. With the brake line detached it will go in easily but make sure the hose connector is pointing away from you to avoid a face full of brake fluid
    It would definitely go better with an engine in it

    when done mine, it was so stiff but lucky mate had one but it may be worth buying tool then you always got it, save time as i tryed with long nose pliers and you'll be there for hours mate
