    X20XEV Crank into Z20LET.

    Easy guys.

    Would it be possible to drop the X20 crank into the Z20, and then plate off where the crankshaft sensor goes and setup some external sensor to run off the AUX Pulley this;

    See how the pulley is a little different to the Z20 Pulley.

    An the engine above is actually a Turbo'd X20XEV.

    Same engine as mine nearly, i used the x20xev crank in my build along with an early x20xev block (he used he later type block), the x20xev crank is lighter and there are a few of these being used in c20`s with close to 700bhp. Im not sure about the external sensor as i used the standard setup.

    So how would the crank sensor work as the crank for the z20 and x20 look completely different as the z20 got 2 extra wheels... 1 to drive the balancer an im sure the crank sensor opperates off the other?

    There are a few different types of x20xev crank, just need to find the correct type, mines an early type from an omega.

    Get it balanced together with the rods, rod bolts and pistons mate. A well balanced engine will last a lot longer than an un-balanced engine and it will be a lot more reliable at high rpm, flywheel can be done on its own later.

    Company i know who can do balancing say they need flywheel, clutch assembly with the crank too?

    Im going to get Arrow Rods, and Accralite pistons so theyll already be balanced wont they? An not need to go with the Crank, Flywheel and Clutch to be balanced will they?

    the flywheel can be done at the same time but its not essential there is a reason but i cant remember lol, even tho the rods and pistons are balanced in the factory you should always get them balanced together before installing with the crank.
    From your spec you should have a nice reliable revvy engine, be good to see how it works.
