    Sony Ericsson W995 vs C905

Purely these 2 phones, so don't be replying with "get an [insert other phone name here]"

Currently have a C905. No problems so far really but there are well documented issues with it. The g/f has one & the buttons work, but have jammed & she's only had it a few month.

Prefer the look of the W995. Looking at the specs, they seem the same.

Done a bit of googling & folk seem to say if you're for the music, get the W995, if you want the camera, get the C905.

How is this when it seems they have the same camera? Doesn't make sense to me

anyone had experience of both & able to comment?

Not the 'joystick' by any chance is it? Stuck, so they don't feel like they 'press in', but they still actually work?

that's what happened to the g/f's after just a month or so of usage. Hers is apparently the older C905 though & i've seemingly got the newer version (that came with the 8gb card). Mine has been problem free.

The c905's have a problem where the speaker dies and you have to talk on loudspeaker on every call the hear them! It happened on mine, my girlfriends and her replacement and the womans at Orange!! Also had a few buttons stick as well. So put me off a little!

I had the same choice and after research, asking on here and speaking to the chap in carphone warehouse, got the w995. He'd had the c905 when it came out but it kept going wrong (about 3 times i think) so when i said which one shall i go for, he didn't hesitate in saying the w995.

Camera wise, the difference is that the c905 has a Xenon flash, whereas the w995 has a LED flash which isn't quite as good. HOWEVER, i had a k850 before this which had a Xenon flash and it was far too bright and just made people look like ghosts. Don't have this problem at all with the w995.

Also, it's great for internet, mine came with a 8GB memory card for music storage, and has a proper 3.5mm headphone socket so you can use your normal headphones, rather than having to plug in the Sony ones.

    Hope that helps!

we've been told by sony ericsson that only the first couple of batches of c905's where affected (around christmas last year), this seems to be bending the truth a little bit as most of the ones i've sold are having to go away for warrenty repairs

I have just had to send my c905 back to SE as there was something wrong with the firmware (?) I think. Hopefully it comes back fixed :|
