    New springs/shocks issue?

Hey, i posted this on another thread but did not get much response and it has been worrying me so would like to get a few more opinions.

When fititng the springs on the back, there are more coils at the bottom? Is this correct?

On the front, I fitted the springs with the part number facing the correct way, when I fitted the springs the exact way the old ones came off it looked very weird, the top of the springs was sitting lower than the coil below it, if that makes sense? After a lot of faffing about I managed to get it slightly better but still not 100% (See pictures below) The bottom of the spring locates as it should and the top of the spring is sitting in nice and tight as it should.

All seems well and the only strange noises I thought i was getting was on the drivers arch liner which I will replace tomorrow, but when cornering hard today I thought i heard something catch on the passengers side, it was like a very very light scrapping noise.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    David

    Yep, jamex springs and shocks.

All upside down? I had assumed that the part numbers would face the correct way, was this wrong?

Interesting, I received no instructions with the springs/shocks, tried googling for ages and couldn't find anything, they looked very very similar either way around and couldn't really compare them to the old springs. I think I might get a mechanic to look at it for me just to ensure all is 100% but would really rather not pay out the money for something I should be able to do myself. The only thing the haynes manual states is "fit the springs the correct way", lot of help that is.

I fitted my Jamex springs with the text up the right way on the backs and the text upside down on the fronts.
Didn't seem right when we did the fronts with the text the right way up, so we swapped them over and they looked ok with it upside down. I have excellent handling, but some slight knocking over bigger bumps which I reckon is probably the rollbar links - but I need to find time to get some new ones.

I emailed jamex about this and their response was "contact your supplier" so I have emailed them today but no response yet, hopefully hear from them in the next day or two.

davemk4coupe, did yours look like mine when fitted with the text the correct way?

Why ask a question then when you get the answer you ignore it anyway

Because you sounded unsure, I don't want to swap them all around to find I was correct in the first place, I do appreicate your input but it just sounded like you were not sure about it.
