Never noticed that, is something loose inside the mirror? Does it function as it should ? The back is only held on by a few clips. I found that out when the Tesco car wash went a bit too far a few years ago and removed both mirror covers.
That was the last time I went near a car wash.
Can you move the mirrors by hand or anything?
It might also be something inside the door. My boot rattles a bit when closed as I think someone dropped a screw inside when it was being built. Can't get it out so I ignore it. Just turn the radio up!!!

The mirror works as it should fine, and when i'm driving my mate put his hand on the casing and the noise stopped, it may just be the clippings loose?

It does happen if they have been removed before. Maybe someone didnt take care when removing it, and broke one of the clips
